The Demand Driven Planner Professional (DDPP)™ is a professional endorsement certification offered by the Demand Driven Institute, the global authority for Demand Driven education, training, certification and compliance.  The DDPP™ is earned by an individual who can apply the demand driven concepts, analyze an environment and evaluate an environment using the Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP) methodology.  An individual achieves DDPP™ endorsement by successfully completing a rigorous test.  Upon successful completion of the test an endorsement certificate will be issued and the individual may begin using DDPP in their professional title.  The individual will also be issued an electronic certificate and badge for use with their social media profiles.

testing Instructions

When you are ready to test follow the detailed instructions below to access the exam.  Allow yourself a few minutes to work through this process and the exam is available immediately after completing the registration process.  You do NOT need to schedule a time and day.  The exam is available on demand.

  1. Obtain a PSI user account.  Fill in all field marked with * and click the reCAPTCHA box – NOTE:  Your email is your user ID.  If you already have a PSI account simply log-in and proceed to step 3.

  2. You will see a confirmation that the account was created successfully.  You will NOT receive a confirmation that the account was created successfully in your email. 

  3. Click on the “SCHEDULE AN EXAM” box

  4. Click on the down arrow in “Select Organization” and select Demand Driven Institute.  Then select which test you wish to take.  NOTE:  Ignore the exam instructions at the bottom of the page.  These instructions do not apply to DDI exams and are in the process of being updated by PSI.  Click on “Continue”

  5. Fill in the Email ID in the red box and click “Continue”

  6. Select the country of purchasing the exam.  NOTE:  All exams are charged in USD.  Click “continue”

  7. Fill in all fields marked with *.  If you have a coupon code enter the code provided in the box.  Click “Continue”

  8. You can now print a receipt for the exam or launch the exam. 

  9. Click “Start”.  Please note, you do not have to immediately start your test.  Once registration and payment process is complete you can log back in at anytime to start your exam.


Exam preparation

This test should not be taken lightly.  Individuals can prepare for the Demand Driven Planner Professional (DDPP)™ test through four avenues:

  1. ATTEND a Demand Driven Planner (DDP)™ Program – the official DDPP test prep session.  The Demand Driven Planner (DDP)™ program is designed for planning, purchasing and supply chain personnel responsible for implementing and maintaining a DDMRP implementation.  Designed by the leading global authorities on DDMRP at the Demand Driven Institute, the Demand Driven Planner program is comprised of 13 modules of in-depth DDMRP education.

  2. TAKE - the sample test and watch the video on how to solve the problems to get the right answers on the sample exam.  To gain access to this feature you must have attended the Demand Driven Planner (DDP)™ Program.  Request DDP content access.

  3. WATCH the latest recorded version of the Demand Driven Planner (DDP)™ Program.  If you have attended a previous live or online DDP Program you can access the recording for free.  Request DDP video access.

  4. SELF-STUDY – Individuals can self-study through a number of resources before attempting the test.  Appropriate resources include:

The DDPP™ test is built on the more advanced stages of Bloom’s Taxonomy - Apply, Analyze and Evaluate.  The test taker is given 180 minutes (3 hours) to answer 50 questions multiple choice questions selected from the item bank related to specific given scenarios and the below categories.

The DDPP Test has six categories.  Each category has a number of subcategories that questions will be assigned to:

The DDPP™ test is an open book test – notes and references can be used.  We encourage you to have a spreadsheet program ready – it may make some calculations/series of calculations easier to manage.  A calculator feature is included in the testing mechanism.


The test is offered through our testing partner PSI.  The testing center relies on the most advanced online testing technology utilized by nearly one thousand organizations around the world across a range of sectors including, business, government, higher education and certification and credentialing bodies.  As the testing center is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week an individual can take the exam at a time and place that is convenient for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why is my voucher code not working?  DO NOT enter your voucher code at the PSI home screen input labeled “Testing Event Invitation Code.”  This is the incorrect field.  You must enter voucher code in the exam payment section.

  2. Is the exam proctored? No, the exam is at a level that proctoring is essentially useless.  You will be asked to agree to a statement before starting the exam regarding sharing any insight and information you gain during the test.

  3. What if I fail my first attempt?  If you fail your first attempt at the test you get a second attempt for free, however, you must wait seven days to test again.  You will receive an email with a breakdown of your performance by section.  YOU MUST OBTAIN A NEW coupon code from DDI Admin to use for your second attempt.  To obtain that second code, you must email DDI Admin for a secondary code.

  4. Can I use resources during the test?  Yes.  The test is open book.  We would also encourage you to have a spreadsheet program ready – it may make some calculations/series of calculations easier to manage.  A calculator feature is included in the testing mechanism.

  5. What if I lose connectivity during the test? If connectivity is lost during the exam, please attempt to log back into the exam as soon as it is restored. You may be able to complete the exam. DDPP™ Certificate Maintenance

DDPP™ certificate holders are required to have 20 Continuing Education Units (CEU) every five years in order to maintain their endorsement.  Each CEU is equivalent to 1 hour of “qualified content”.  A list of qualified content is included below:

  • Watching available videos on the DDI website

  • Watching available videos through DDI’s ondemand system

  • Watching the latest recording of the Demand Driven Planner (DDP)™ Program

  • Attendance of a Demand Driven World™ Conference

  • Attendance of other DDI educational products (Demand Driven Leader™, Demand Driven Supply Chain Fundamentals™, Precisely Wrong Workshop™, etc.)

  • Attendance of DDI Affiliates and event partners (look for the DDPP CEU Qualified Content logo)
